Greg Mell - Coach

I have a University degree in Sports Coaching and Psychology, a PGCE in Primary PE, as well as the FA level one badge.

I coached in a football academy for two years before becoming school head of football for another three years and a half years.

I have worked in sports coaching for the past 12 years, and have been lucky enough to travel all over the world doing what I love. Football has always been my favourite sport as I think it’s the most exciting both to watch and play. I played myself competitively from a young age and if I hadn’t had so many injuries I would still be playing now! Coaching football allows me to continue being part of the game, and if I can help young players enjoy themselves and improve their game that’s very satisfying, as well being the most important part of good coaching.

My experience has come through working from preschool football right through to U17’s in both boys’ and girls’ categories, and have coached nine teams in competitive league campaigns. In this time I have won 11 trophies, including winning 4 leagues and 1 cup competition, including winning a final in the world’s third largest football stadium, the Azteca Stadium in Mexico.
